451 Valance Removal
Remove the valance to have it painted or to cut the hole for an exhaust.

Mod Credit: Evilution

Remove the 2 lower valence screws that can be seen from the rear of the car.

Right in the back corners of the arch section is a plastic pin pushed into an insert.

Pull the pin out using a tack remover or pliers. Pull the insert out afterwards.

Next to that is a horizontal tab, lift the tab up and push the valance back to unclip it.
Repeat on both sides and allow the valance to sit below this horizontal tab.

Stand at the rear of the car, holding the lower edge of the valance and swinging
it upward towards you, the clips disengage and the valance comes off.

Cut the hole you require for your exhaust or have it painted as I have done.

It is widely believed that the textured finish of the original valance is hard to paint to give a smooth glossy finish, this is untrue. Any decent spray shop will use high build primer to level the piece before spraying. You can see from this close up that the finish is smooth, not textured.

This can also be done on the textured side skirts to give the look of the Brabus side skirts
but at the fraction of the cost. Yes, the Brabus skirts are no different to the standard ones.

Refitting the valance can be done with the rear panels on the car.
Offer up the rear vertical tabs and push in place, pull back each side of the valance and
slot it onto the horizontal tabs. Check again that the vertical tabs are all clipped in place,
then replace the insert followed by the plastic pin on both sides to secure the valance.
