Inside the box you’ll find 4 bolts. Remove these with an E12 socket.
In front of the box, just behind the vacuum booster is a pair of E10 bolts to remove.
1 on each side.
You can remove the brake light switch by twisting it a quarter of a turn.
The pedal assembly, master cylinder and brake booster will drop down. Unbolt the hard brake lines either from the master cylinder end or the ABS pump end.
Pop out the 2 pipes from the brake fluid tank to the master cylinder. Catch the torrent of brake fluid in your face. Then pull the pipe from the vacuum booster.
The entire part will be free from the car.
You can now remove the 2 bolts that hold the master cylinder to the brake booster.
Upon reassembly, you’ll have to do a lot of brake fluid bleeding probably using pressure and vacuum to give yourself the best chance of success. If you have MB Star, you can manually activate the ABS pump to push the fluid through.
