Boot Hatch Speakers
The boot of a smart car isn't the biggest thing ever so it would be silly to take up space with speakers. Lets put them in the lower hatch.
Remove the boot panel as seen here. Unhook the gland that carries the cables
into the car and push it into the boot.
You need to get your 4 wires through the gland,
a spray of WD40 will help the wires slip through.
Place the gland back into its proper position and trail the cables to the right places.
On the box that the speakers came in there will be a template.
Cut it out and pencil it onto the boot flap.
Pay attention to where the metal bits are in the boot so you don't hit them.
Get your dremmel out, remove the foam from the boot and cut the holes.
Place the speakers into the holes and draw around them in pencil.
To neaten it up I created a ring of draught excluder around the outside.
Attach the wires to the speakers.
Put them in the holes and screw them down, it's not necessary to predrill the holes.
Place the surround over the speakers and screw them down.
Push the protective speaker grill into the surround on both speakers.
Zip tie the wires to the existing wires and run them down the side of the car under the carpet, under the footwell polystyrene block and up behind the dash to the stereo.
Connect the speakers to the stereo and refit anything that you took off back to the car.
