451 Rear Panel Removal
Rear panel removal helps when fitting a replacement exhaust etc.
Disconnect the rear lights on both sides by removing the inside panel on each side of the boot.

Push in the plastic tab on the light connection and pull the connector free of the light unit.

Remove the skirts as
seen here, just in front of the rear wheels you will find 2 Torx25 screws.

Look at the lower part of the rear bumper and remove the Torx25 screws from each side.

Look under the car to find 2 panel clips, pull these down to unhook them.

Open the boot and remove the 2 Torx25 screws from beside the lights.

Just under the boot hatch right in the centre is another Torx25 screw.

Starting in front of the rear wheels, start pulling the panel away from the car to unclip it.

On the side with the filler cap, pull the panel out and disconnect the wiring that you can see.

Unscrew the petrol cap.

Undo the offside boot strap by removing the Torx40 bolt.

Lift up the carpet and look for 2 nuts, position indicated below.

Use a 17mm socket to remove them both.

The boot hatch can now be removed far enough for it to be put in the boot out of the way.

With the boot out of the way, the rear panel can be removed from the rear of the car.

Refitting is the reverse of removal.
